"he told her the WT donates to the Red Cross"
Newsflash: Jehovah's Witnesses LIE!
hi all, i'm new but have read an awful lot here plus jwfacts and jwsurvey over the past months, also the coc book.. i'm not a jw (and never will be) but have a wife who is a 'want-to-be' jw.
this is quite a challenge for me as i already had an idea on some of the points jws stick to, but now with everything i have learned about the high-control methods, the changing doctrines, and the cover-ups, it's a real concern.... anyway, i was putting forward the notion that jw's don't help anyone in disaster zones, except jws, or by giving out wt tracts or magazines (which would be really useful to homeless, hungry and cold families).
she didn't know, and doubted it, so i told her to ask an elder if the wt provides assistance at all anywhere.. she reported back that the elder said the wt does contribute to the red cross.

you guessed it.... .

cedars.
I agree with Outlaw. WT Corp writers are as stupid as a box of rocks*!
*No offense intended toward boxes of rocks by comparing them to WT writers.
hello everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.. i am a mid 30's just stepped aside elder, who just couldn't handle it anymore.. i am a 3rd generation born-in and former pioneer and bethelite.
it has been a log somewhat confusing ride for me, but i am finally settling in to realizing that i need to really look at what me and my family are doing.. .
its funny though what really got me here... it wasn't the 40 year old men telling me they were looking at boobies on the computer and hoping not to get in trouble, it wasn't the watching young people bail left and right, it wasn't the ever changing new light etc... but a simple thought.. .
Welcome soso!
As I look back, I now realize that the "bethel family" was a completely dysfunctional family.
Interesting logic in your OP. It would make sense not to preach, because if they refused, the householder would have to be slaughtered at the big A. But if they never heard of Jehovah, they would have a better chance of being spared. And when innocent people get killed in some natural or unnatural disaster, JWs should rejoice since they'll have a shot at resurrection.
i'm a new member & i'd like to say hi to everyone, intoducing myself.. i am a 3rd generation born-in at mid 50's & an active elder.. english is not my mother language, so pls ignore any grammatical errors.
i live in a small country in europe.. i'd like to thank you for all information posted.
some of them have rally helped me to understand and examine again my beliefs.. last new light concerning f&ds=gb has verified the idea that they are popes in the position op pope.. i still believe in god & in his son jesus christ but not in the gb..
Welcome!
hello, i am new and i feel soooo wrong about being here.
anyway i am an m.s and have been disillusioned ever since the new understanding that came out in october.
i have read many things on this board that i have and also have not thought about.
Welcome!
" I am NOT an apostate... "
Nope. WT Corporation is the apostate.
the world's largest religious festival, and arguably the most fascinating is underway right now in the city of prayag (also known as allahabad) in the north india state of uttar pradesh.
for 55 days, hindu worshippers from all over the world (including many western converts) will converge on the area for a ritual cleansing in the ganges at the point where ganges, the yamuna and the (mythical?
) saraswati converge.
"Since the JWs were once claiming that Assembly organisation was evidence of Yahweh's superior spirit operating on the witnesses, can we now conclude from this festival, which has been operating at least from the 8th C. CE and which gives evidence of even greater deeds than the JW organisation that the spirit of the Hindu gods is much greater and much superior to Yahweh's puny efforts. "
Makes sense to me.
here it is folks.... http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/children/become-jehovahs-friend/videos/pray-anytime/.
sophia takes center stage on this one.. .
cedars.
Just a song, eh? The message must be to get JW kids to pray in school. Too bad they don't show a little more "real life" situation, like praying with her single mom in their run-down apartment, or praying while dad is drunk and beating mom.
I think the #1 parody would be "Fart Anytime"
slightly nsfw.

Love it!
another wt article which causes jw's to doubt their own perceptions of reality.
) in this particular article titled " for those loving jehovah, " there is no stumbling block " - the wt society stoops to new, or rather re-hashed lows to insinuate that most if not all jw's really misunderstand causes of stumbling as it's just their minds that are imperfect, messed up, or gone entirely anyway.
the first abhorrent bit of information here describes a witness man who " fought " with feelings of being homosexual and of course the elders thought they had the perfect antidote to keep him from his alleged " abnormal " desires.
" For Those Loving Jehovah, " There is No Stumbling block "
So, when a child gets sexually molested by someone in the congregation and the elders insist on calling WT legal department FIRST, rather than instantly calling the police and the hospital, is this not a stumbling block of monumental proportion? How dare WT dismiss their wicked actions by instructing that they are "no stumbling block"!
Because the scripture that comes to my mind when WT insists on such horrible and unjust policies is Jesus saying, "Get away from me you workers of lawlessness!" These WT sh!theads don't know a thing about love or justice.
i have read on this site, that there really is'nt anymore invites to bethel, and yet my 2 nephews have just been invited.
they are both serving as we speak.
i do understand that there has to be somebody there for the matter of maintenance, plumbing, and etc., to just keep the building operational, and my personal opinion is that they aren't there for that reason.
I've known of a few that have gone since the layoffs. The impression I had gotten was that besides getting rid of the "dead weight" and "old-timers", they wanted/needed to bring in fresh blood. From my experience with GB 2.0, they would be happy to replace those of us that saw them come in as "new boys" and replace us with fresh young faces that would idolize them and see bethel as this wonderful place where they didn't know anyone that had been kicked to the curb.
It's the type of thing corporations or the military would do. Keep bringing in new recruits. Once the get tired or start asking too many questions, cut them loose. I would suspect that your nephews won't get the type of pitch that "bethel needs lifers" which I got the first decade I wasted in bethel.
